Heroku branches out to include Java apps

Heroku, the platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider bought last year by Salesforce.com, announced Thursday that it will begin supporting applications written in Java. Heroku started out running applications written in Ruby. It later expanded to support Node.js and Clojure, and is now adding Java.
