Cisco, NEC team up on LTE networks

Cisco Systems and NEC will jointly sell LTE networks to carriers under a deal announced on Tuesday. Cisco will provide its ASR 5000 mobile packet core switch and NEC will supply base stations for the high-speed mobile data networks around the world. They have verified interoperability between the products after extensive testing in the real world, the companies said.
